@~Miss-.-mini:*me~

Try His Dark Materials if you haven't already.
These books are so thrilling!
The first entitled "Northern Lights" (which would be "The Golden Compass") ist far more than the movie, I can promise.
The second "The Subtle Knife" is unbelievable...
And the third "The Amber Spyglass" opens a new way of recognising genesis...
I couldn't believe my eyes while reading it. Actually, I thought I was misunderstanding the message at first but was confirmed soon...

I don't agree.
In my mind British English sounds much better than American English.
I mean American English is easier than British English, but beacause of that it also sounds easy.

Too elegant. Right Fröhlich You've never talked to an actual Englishman, have you? Trust me: it's not all BBC and Oxford.
As with any other language the question is rather, where you are in a particular country instead of what country you are in. My guess is that you may find more likeliness of the average Bostonian to, say, someone from greater London (unless it's Cockney Augenzwinkern ) than to average Joe from Texas.
Or, for a change, try to survive in Birmingham or Yorkshire. So much for Oxford English Lachen

As for me, I just can't decide. I grew up with American English and to this day some real-life British accents make my nails curl. But then again, I catch myself trying to remodel my own English to one more fit for use on that particular island. Just the other day I had an American ask me if I had spent some time in either Ireland or the UK.

uhm... BRITISH ACCENTS ROCK <3 ^_^
I don't like the American english very much... I don't hate it... but I think British accents are simply nicer^^
my favourite accents are the British (of course there are so many diffrent British accents, so when I'm talking about British I mean the 'proper' one, you know that swollen BBC thing... I just love it because... it sounds so.. ancient to me^^), Scottish, Irish and of course the Kiwi accent ^_^ I LOVE Peter Jackson's accent, it's so freakin' cool Grinsen

I like the british accent too!
But american english is easier to understand! (Sorry my english is horrible) breites Grinsen
When I was in Scotland, I had many problems because of the different accents! I have worked in a shop with a woman from London! This was the only clear accent I understand! Fröhlich

i also prefer the british accent. one of my friends comes from wales and she has an amazing accent, when she speaks english and not this welsh stuff. i am soooo jealous all the time breites Grinsen
i have a heavy american accent. someone once said to me that he feels like talking to an american girl. XD i watch lots and lots of us tv shows and so this is the accent that i mainly hear. i would love to have such a wonderful british accent as my friend XD

and british guys are definetly sooo sexy. and i am always impressed that almost everyone is nice and helpful and kind. i am really not used to that here in austria. i am huge fan of the scots x) i also love their accent and dont get it why no one understands the scotish accent. i am just too stupid to read it. i have no idea why XD

british english is so elegant and all the words sound a lot better. but it is a lot easier to learn american english. i think the main reason is, that british people open the mouth a lot more when talking, while americans not. this is more similar to german. i actually have never ever heard of a person, whose mothertongue was german, and who had a british accent.

if I had to decide I would defintely choose the scottish accent altough I always have to concentrate to understand everthing.

generally I prefer british over american english, just because I like the british choice of words much more.

In my opinion both the British and the American accent provide an attraction.
I cannot say wether I prefer the British or the American English.
As my ears are more accustomed to the American version, because of the many American series I watch, I think I choose American pronounciation and spelling in most cases, which to my English teacher is sometimes annoying since she prefers British English. Still, I must confess that her pronounciation is some kind of weird and neither the British nor the American way. Maybe it is Hinglish? Or even Spanglish (which would be an explanation for she also teaches Spanish)? Well, I don't know, maybe it is just her own style Grinsen .
